Our master artisans hail from families that have practiced Tanjore painting for generations. Each piece you see in our collection is hand-crafted using authentic techniques: layered relief work, embedded semi-precious stones, and genuine 22 and 24 carat gold foils.

The Sacred Process

How a Parampara Painting is Born

Every painting takes weeks to complete, passing through the careful hands of multiple skilled artisans. Here is the journey of a Tanjore painting from raw materials to your home.

Sketching

The artisan draws the divine figure on a wooden plank, paying careful attention to traditional iconography and proportions.

Relief Work

Layers of gesso paste are applied to create the signature raised, three-dimensional ornaments and jewelry on the figure.

Gold Foil

Genuine 22 or 24 carat gold foil is meticulously pressed onto the relief work, giving the painting its luminous, sacred glow.

Painting & Stones

Vibrant colors are filled in by hand, and semi-precious stones are embedded to add brilliance to the finished masterpiece.
